Joining A Session

Players install nothing. Everything a console needs is served by the host machine and drawn in the browser.

Connect

Open a browser and go to the address the host gives you:

http://192.168.1.20:1864/

On the host's own machine that is http://localhost:1864/. If the host is somewhere else on the internet, the address is their public one — the port on the end is still what matters, and it is still 1864 unless you were told otherwise.

Pick a station

You land on STATION SELECTION: every station this server can serve, grouped by purpose. The six ordinary bridge stations are at the top: Flight, Tactical, Operations, Sciences, Engineer and Captain. Choose one and you are in that seat.

You do not need to be assigned a seat in advance and you do not need to log in. Taking a station binds you to a vessel automatically — usually the one the mission intends for that role. Your Game Master can see where you landed and move you.

Two people can open the same station. Nothing stops it, and it is genuinely useful — a trainee beside an experienced officer, or a second Tactical display on a bigger screen. Both are live, so agree who is driving.

One browser, one console

Each console wants its own window. If you are running more than one, use separate windows rather than tabs: a background tab is throttled by the browser, and a throttled console falls behind the simulation. Full screen (F11) gets rid of the browser furniture and is how the consoles are meant to be seen.

Other stations worth knowing

  • Main Viewer — the view out of the front of the ship, with no controls. This is the one to put on the big screen or the projector.
  • Spectator — watch without occupying a seat.
  • Secondary stations like Radar, Shield Status or Cargo Hold are single‑purpose displays. They are for extra monitors, not for playing from.

Consoles And Screens lists all of them.

Reconnecting

If your browser drops the connection, reload the page and pick your station again. The simulation kept running without you; your vessel and its state are on the server, not in your browser, so nothing is lost by reloading. Reloading a console is also the first thing to try when one starts behaving oddly.
